The Greater Stamford System of Care Collaborative is a
multidisciplinary group of traditional and nontraditional providers,
parents and consumers from the towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan and Stamford.
Our Mission is to provide access to a comprehensive, coordinated system
of support and services that are flexible, family centered and
culturally competent to:
a) build families' capacities to meet their children's mental health needs, and
b) reduce isolation by increasing community awareness of children's mental health needs.
Our vision is: children and adolescents with behavioral health needs
will have access to a broad array of services that are easily
accessible, family driven, culturally competent, effective, and promote
a community without stigma.
The success of our collaborative is based on the determination and
dedication of its members. The involvement of each person is
integral in helping carry out our mission. The active
participation of each member is extremely important to develop our
quality network that enhances our common and individual goals.
This participation can occur in various manners, such as:
- Attending monthly meetings to share/obtain information
- Working with subcommittees on parent/guardian recruitment, cultural diversity, juvenile justice, youth mapping or marketing,
- Attending focus groups that target a particular issue or need.
We welcome you to become involved with our collaborative at a level
that is comfortable for you. We hope your participation will be
as meaningful to you as it will be to us!
